The local knowledge
Anker’s is both an inn and a practical foothold for Kvothe during his studies. Its owner offers him a room and meals in exchange for performances as the house musician. Among the pressures of University life, the arrangement gives him somewhere to belong and a way to keep making music.
Our interpretation
We have given the inn a warm, timeworn sign, imagining the welcome of a place that becomes a home. Its styling is our interpretation, not a claim about a canonical sign design.
