The local knowledge
The Ivy Bush is a gathering place for local hobbits near Hobbiton and Bywater. Before Bilbo’s great party, the Gaffer discusses the Baggins family here. Its importance is wonderfully small-scale: conversation, neighbourhood gossip and the everyday life that makes the Shire feel inhabited.
Our interpretation
Climbing ivy and a warmly lit round window give our sign the comfortable character of a neighbourhood inn.
