The local knowledge
The Spacing Guild controls interstellar transportation in the Imperium. Its Navigators depend on the spice melange, tying the movement of people and goods to Arrakis. That makes the Guild more than a transport provider: its service is essential to the balance of power between worlds.
Our interpretation
Ocean-liner advertising and Art Deco lettering suggest a grand age of interstellar passage. The vessel is an imagined design for this advert, rather than a reproduction of a film ship. “Distant worlds. Distinguished passage.” is our own fictional advertising line.
